Approximately 23.6 million workers are expected to receive PIS/PASEP this year. The amount to be distributed amounts to R$1,400,000.002 billion. PIS payments are made according to the worker's month of birth. PASEP payments are based on the last digit of the program registration number.

Since its implementation, it has attracted a lot of attention due to the unification of the name “PIS/PASEP”. However, they are different programs. The Social Integration Program (PIS) is managed by Caixa Econômica Federal (CEF) with the purpose of serving employees of private companies.

PIS/PASEP is a salary bonus released once a year. As long as they have met all the program criteria, formal workers are the beneficiaries.

From February onwards, who will receive PIS/PASEP?

In order to receive PIS/PASEP, the worker must meet the required criteria.

The eligibility rules have not changed in recent years. Therefore, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Be enrolled in PIS/PASEP programs for at least five years;
  • Have worked registered for at least 30 consecutive days or not;
  • Received up to two minimum wages;
  • Employment data must be reported and updated in the Annual Social Information Report (RAIS).

People tend to focus only on the fact that they worked for a few months during the reference year for payment. However, they forget that it is necessary to have at least five years of formal employment, whether consecutive or not. Only then will PIS/PASEP be released.

The worker must also pay attention to the standard 5-year period of registration with PIS/PASEP. After this period, the worker will be entitled to receive the first salary bonus.
