According to Google, Bard should reach users in the coming weeks. Its technology is LaMDA (an acronym that stands for “Language Model for Dialog Applications”, literally translated), which is similar to the GPT series of language models, standing out for its ability to obtain updated information from the Internet.

OpenAI software, which is used by ChatGPT, on the other hand, has limited knowledge of the world and events after 2021.

Bard is the search giant's answer to ChatGPT

The launch of Bard is due to the great success that ChatGPT had, creating a new record by reaching the mark of 100 million active users in a short launch time of just two months.

Also, as soon as OpenAI's software was launched, developer Paul Buchheit, one of the creators of Gmail, stated that it would take about two years for the search engine to be eliminated by AI.

Now, the battle between chatbots has begun

How does Bard work?

Bard is fed with real-time information from the web, which tends to make its responses more reliable than ChatGPT's.

It promises to revolutionize how we communicate with artificial intelligence.

Developed by Google, Bard is an AI-driven chatbot that can engage in meaningful dialogue with users on a variety of topics.

This cutting-edge technology is equipped with natural language processing capabilities and machine learning algorithms, allowing it to understand complex questions and provide accurate answers.

Google chatbot uses LaMDA AI

This innovative chatbot offers conversational AI technology for users to interact using natural language processing.

It is designed to simulate human conversation and is built to think and respond in a way that is similar to people.

LaMDA, or Language Modeling with Dialogue Applications, is an open-source natural language processing platform developed by Google Research that enables developers and businesses to build custom dialog applications based on existing AI models.

With this technology, Bard can understand user input, generate appropriate responses, and even remember the context of previous conversations.

Additionally, it can automatically detect topics related to a given query and offer relevant suggestions or solutions based on its understanding of the user's intent.

Questions the Bard will answer

Bard can be used to answer complex questions and be creative.

Example of some possible requests to the chatbot:

  • Help planning a friend's baby shower;
  • Comparison of 2 Oscar nominated films;
  • Snack ideas based on ingredients I have in the fridge;
  • James Webb Space Telescope Discoveries I Can Tell My 9-Year-Old About.

When will we be able to access Bard?

Bard is still an experiment, but Google promises that in the coming weeks it will have a light model of the full version available for testing.
